"If you want to finish
well, you must begin well."- Pastor Doug
Pastor
Doug Kelley gathers River of Life Churches on its Joint Service to preach about
Finishing Well last February 25 at New Hope Church in Brookside.
Pastor
Doug, a missionary and writer from Mexico, had been part of ROL Churches stories
then and now, likely, he placed a great part on their hearts.
As
the event started, a praise and worship was led by Dra. Joanne Datangel-Galardo
together with ROLC Worship Team, it then proceeded to an appreciation to the
Pastors through gifts. They have chosen paintings for their respective
churches. Children have their gifts, too. They let them chose toys they
wanted.
"Giving is the key of
getting." Pastor Doug said.
Meanwhile,
the theme "Finishing Well" engages ROL Churches to begin well and end
well because God wanted us to end well. As what Pastor Doug has said, "Finish line in life is within our
sight."
Furthermore,
Pastor Doug elaborated that God has a unique purpose in believer. He also
mentioned the Disneyland that is known as the happiest place in the world but
it's a no and a mistake. "We are the
happiest place in the world when we gather in the name of the Lord." Pastor
Doug said.
According
to him, transition means change. Additionally, he aforementioned 5 truths about
transition - stressful, requires waiting, never stops, needs re-alignment and
re-assignment.
Pastor
Doug also mentioned the two real commandments Jesus gave us - love God with all
of your heart, life and strength and also, love your neighbor as yourself.
Finally,
it all ended with declaring of blessings and prayer to ROL Churches. And there,
"When you live passionately, your
with Jesus." as what Pastor Doug said. The only thing that matters is
walking in the Spirit, which osha-mosha means.
