JUDGER

By: Jonah

You can’t look at a person and know him/her completely. Bilang isang tao hindi natin maiwasang mang judge. I admit na before I have been judging other people constantly while thinking that I am more special than them. That finding their flaws somehow makes them ‘less’ and me ‘more’. I mean may nakasabay ako sa jeep na babaeng sobrang kapal ng make up and kung anu-ano ng inisip ko. May nakasabay akong matabang lalaki na boom power ang putok na judge ko na siya ng bongga sa isip ko. You don’t know when a random person will surprise you.

There was this one time that I got involved in an accident and nawalan ng preno yung vehicle na sinasakyan ko tapos pababa pa yung kalsada but with God’s protection, He let the vehicle hit a tree. Madaming tao ang tumulong para makalabas kami sa sasakyan. Now that I’m thinking about it, those persons who helped us were not handsome or perfect, they were just humans and in that moment that they were helping me, I didn’t care about what they look like. I’m grateful for their lives. Ever since then I never judged a person for what they look like or what they do. I learned to value their lives and appreciate that they have something unique in them. They are special too and that doesn’t make me less special.
You see, there are a lot of flaws that each one of us possess and that’s a fact but remember what it says in Matthew 7:3, “You can see the speck in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the log in your own eye.”
“Christian ka? Hala kaya pala ang bait mo.”
Pamilyar ka ba sa ganyang kataga? O baka naman,
“Christian ka? Utut! Weh?! Saan banda? Joker ka huh!

Ang hirap kapag before you do anything na judge ka na agad ng ibang tao. Kahit sabihin pa natin na we are Christians, we are not perfect. But what exactly are you doing in your life as a Christian? O baka naman sa Church lang applicable ang bansag sayo na isang Kristiyano? Matthew 3:8 says that, “Do something to show that you have really given up your sins.” We can’t be perfect but we can be pleasing to God’s eyes. Remember my friend that by being better, you are not pleasing others or gaining their acceptance. You should be doing it for God. You should be insecured and guilty of doing something wrong because God is watching you and He cares for you. It is not the title you are taking care of but the relationship you are in with Christ. It is not others who judge or you but it is God who sees all and knows all.
