January 28 - Youth Rapids of River of Life-Cainta Church had an activity
called "Prayer Walk" wherein we were divided into 3 groups during our
Youth Fellowship.
Each group has given 10 bookmarks and we are challenged to walk, to look
for some strangers and to pray for them. Those who will allow us to pray will
be given a bookmark as a souvenir. We were assigned in different part of
Anakpawis. At first it was hard because we were hesitant to approach different
persons. Time passes and although there are some who declined, we still got a
chance to pray for people.
It was a great experience for everyone because even on that small time
that was given to us we had an opportunity to help them in that simple way.
Convincing others is really difficult these days but because God is with us, we
didn't let that stop us from what we want to achieve. Together, we came back in
church with a smile in our face and stories from the people that we met which
we'll never forget.
Before going home, we shared to other youth our experience in that prayer
walk. Along the way, some of us encountered people who asked first our religion
before declining/allowing us pray for them, while others told their stories
with a glad in their face because of 2 best friends and an old man who impart
an inspiring message to them. A great experience, indeed.
It wasn't just a "Youth Fellowship", in our own little way, we
meaningfully did that activity not only for the sake of our ministry but also
for our community.
